Shemar Moore Speaks On Fatherhood and Future Family Plans
Shemar Moore, known for his role in ‘S.W.A.T.’, recently shared insights into his experience as a father and his thoughts on expanding his family. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 54-year-old actor discussed the possibility of having more children, despite acknowledging the realities of age and his current family dynamics.
Moore, who welcomed daughter Frankie with girlfriend Jesiree Dizon in January 2023, expressed openness to the idea of expanding his family further. However, he humorously noted, “I ain’t no Spring Chicken,” highlighting the consideration of his age. Dizon already has two children from a previous relationship, 17-year-old Kayden and 6-year-old Charlie, whom Moore warmly embraces as part of his family along with their dog, Tyson.
Raised as an only child himself, Moore reflected on his parenting philosophy, emphasizing his desire to dedicate quality time to Frankie as she grows up. He remarked, “I’d rather give her 37 years of all of me, than worry twice and split that up,” showing his commitment to being present in his daughter’s life.
Earlier this year, Moore discussed his contentment with his current family setup on The Jennifer Hudson Show, mentioning that he is focused on enjoying fatherhood with Frankie and relying on Dizon’s guidance. He humorously admitted to “baby-stepping” through parenthood, learning from Dizon’s experience.
Proud of his daughter’s milestones, Moore described Frankie as his “little miracle,” sharing anecdotes of her first steps coinciding with his professional achievements. He joyously recounted, “She waited for me to get off of work. I get the announcement that S.W.A.T. is coming back for season 8 and 22 episodes and literally the next day, she walked 10 steps.”
Moore’s journey into fatherhood has been marked by love, humor, and a deep commitment to family. As he continues to navigate his roles on screen and off, his dedication to fatherhood remains a central focus, cherishing each moment with Frankie and embracing the joys and challenges of raising a child in today’s world.
