Taylor Kinney of ‘Chicago Fire’ Marries Ashley Cruger Following Two Years Together

Taylor Kinney, known for his role as Lieutenant Kelly Severide on NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” has married Ashley Cruger after two years of dating.

The couple exchanged vows last month in a small, private ceremony in Chicago, as confirmed by a representative for Kinney to PEOPLE. The wedding took place on April 30, and neither Kinney nor Cruger has publicly commented on the event through social media.

Kinney recently returned to “Chicago Fire” for the show’s 12th season, which began airing in January after his brief hiatus. The current season is set to conclude next week on May 22, but fans can look forward to more drama as a 13th season has already been confirmed.

The season finale will also mark a significant change for the cast, with Eamonn Walker departing from his role as Chief Wallace Boden. This follows the earlier season exits of Rome Flynn and Kara Killmer, who played Derrick Gibson and Sylvie Brett, respectively.

Reflecting on her character’s journey and departure, Killmer shared, “I love that Sylvie started her journey being left at the altar by her high school boyfriend and then moving to Chicago to start anew. It’s gratifying to see her finally across the aisle from the love of her life, becoming the woman and paramedic she was meant to be. This feels like a natural ending for her. Playing a first responder has been both humbling and inspiring, and I’ve loved every minute of working alongside real firefighters and paramedics.”
