Meet Nathan Fillion’s Rarely-Seen Lookalike Brother Jeff
For Nathan Fillion, family is paramount. The actor, who relished a joyful upbringing in Edmonton, Canada, shares a deep bond with his parents and his elder brother, Jeff.
In a 2009 interview with Oprah.com, the 53-year-old actor shared his greatest inspiration. Nathan’s admiration for his brother is profound. “I endeavor to be more like my older brother,” he said. “He’s very magnetic, much like [Richard] Castle, attracting people effortlessly. You can find him in a crowd by looking for the group gathered around him. He’s incredibly talented, patient, and kind—everyone just likes him.”
The Fillion brothers support each other wholeheartedly. Jeff has joined Nathan at several high-profile events, including Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con Celebration in 2012 and the People’s Choice Awards in 2013.
While speaking with The TV Addict in 2009, Nathan, then starring in “Castle,” discussed how he monitored his show’s ratings. He humorously revealed, “I’ve got a dedicated team that scours the internet for such info—they’re known as my family. My brother, mother, and father are my team, my Google alert, if you will.”
Despite Nathan’s preference for privacy, he openly celebrates his brother on special occasions. For Canada’s National Sibling Day in April 2020, Nathan posted a nostalgic photo of Jeff, expressing deep admiration: “To say he has influenced me is an understatement. To say I admire him is an understatement. To say he has an unusual number of nicknames for me is an understatement. I cannot say enough about how proud I am of what he’s accomplished. Thank you, Jeff. I endeavor to be more like you all the time.”
Nathan also highlights Jeff’s role as a loving father, often posting about him on Father’s Day. In 2022, he shared, “This is my dad and my brother. While I am the spitting image of my dad, my brother is a clone of my dad’s dad. The Fillion blood runs strong. We all act alike, laugh alike, and sound alike. We don’t choose our family, but if we could, I’d choose them again. Of all the influences in my life, these men have influenced me the most, and I couldn’t be more proud. Happy Father’s Day, you guys—thanks for always being there.”
