The 1942 Ford Cab was equipped with a 3-speed manual transmission and a 95 horsepower, 221 cubic inch flathead V8 engine. It featured a 116-inch wheelbase and a 1,500-pound cargo capacity.

The car was designed to be basic and utilitarian, having a solid front axle and leaf spring suspension. It was offered in both basic and premium trim levels, with extras including chrome trim and an updated interior.
